What is Scrollbar Linux?

Scrollbar Linux is a custom live and installable Linux environment using the XFCE desktop and downstream of Devuan and Debian. I built it because I tried nearly every XFCE live ISO in the DistroWatch top 100 and didn't think a single one had theming options as good as Xubuntu from 20 years ago.

Features:

• Obvious controls

  By default buttons look like physical buttons, and icons can be identified by both shape and colour.

• See things instantly

  The default taskbar shows individual windows, and scrollbars are never hidden.

• Real theme choice

  40+ global themes. Switch entire design languages, not just accent colors.

• Nostalgia

  I have adapted multiple themes from older desktops for modern Xfce.

• Packages

  Already running a Debian-family distro? Install my packages à la carte.

THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE

A few of the issues that should be fixed before "beta" release:

1. No setup for adding the live user's dotfiles to other new users
2. Background images baked directly into ISO rather than packaged
3. Some reduntant themes and images
4. Desktop icons are a mess
5. Installation process is not tested.
6. Nodepad Next's find-and-replace dialog is broken with the default window manager (upstream issue)
